Q5: Tao Lin's writing is referenced in many of your book reviews and theoretical essays. What can you say about Tao Lin and your writing? What can you say about being a young writer in the literature scene today?

the data has shown that you're the most typical person in the world

A5: tao lin really influenced my minimalist style. before i read a lot by tao, i was writing very spastic, sprawling poems. when i was most immersed in tao's work, reading all his books and blog and twitter archives, my tone became pretty deadpan. recently i've become more flarf more than deadpan, but i still use a pretty direct tone in prose like this interview
tao also inspired me to implement promotional ideas i had. i've always wanted to promote my poetry using social media, because i liked doing that for my band, but tao's successes kind of showed how it's possible, and that encouraged me to actually start doing it
the parts of the literature scene that i participate in are really fun. most of my recent activity on facebook and my blog has felt like a party with a bunch of great people invited
Not sure how you could get through a six page article without feeling the need to point out that the things that Koko signs make absolutely no sense about 50% of the time. ALL BALL NIPPLE NIPPLE GOOD.
