should i bid on tao's myspace account, are you asking yourself that
interest in my myspace account being on ebay seems 'extremely low' after an 'initial flurry' of links and bidsmy internet presence seems 'dead'
i have an image of an 'upside-down ant'
an ant lying on its back, or 'carapace' (unsure if ants have that), with x's over its eyes if you 'zoom in'
i feel okay
seems like my career is over
i feel calm, like a turtle 'sipping' pond water
is the dog to the right a visual representation of my career, seems likely
feels like i'll be a manager at taco bell in 2-3 years
almost every post on this blog that i make now seems to me like something i would see as the last post on a blog that hasn't been updated in 5-8 years
i feel that winning my myspace account can cause you to get mad hits
you could post my personal messages on your site
corporations should feel interested
institutional investors or something
bookforum or the village voice or htmlgiant could buy my myspace account and do things with it to increase their hits
can't people see that profits can be made, when will bookforum 'open its eyes'
elimae could buy my myspace account, seems funny
i wish james yeh would buy my myspace account
any 'random ass bro' could buy my myspace account and send bulletins promoting themself
when pieces of toast with jesus on them sell on ebay it's mostly local business that buy them, i feel, in order to promote themself
does this not have the same potential
should i have taken photos of my myspace account showing the face of christ on the computer screen
where are my fans that have real jobs at banks or google or something, have they left me for n + 1, 'where is all the money going,' is everyone just buying beer or something
do i have fans that aren't really poor high school drop outs with marijuana-smoking fathers
doesn't anyone want to 'be me' anymore, perhaps i am in a 'dead' phase where interest in me is shifting from 'real' to 'ironic'
i can think of 'nothing better' re my myspace account's auction than if the members of htmlgiant 'teamed up' to win it
i feel afraid of what i might type next
going to end this blog post now

current bid at 51.00 and i contemplated bidding just to make you happy
unfortunately, however, i don't have 51.00 to spend on a myspace account that i probably wouldn't do anything with, and, if i had this myspace account i feel i would likely experience some sort of identity crisis. i think i might feel morally strange about owning someone else's mypsace account
and, morally, i am opposed to myspace. i dont even have my own myspace anymore ( i dont think)
maybe others feel like me.
condition - acceptable
i feel that you should bid on your own myspace.maybe that would be post-modern or post- post modern. or maybe no-one bidding at all and you having to pay listing fees despite this would result in some form of joycean epiphany re your identity.
maybe you could blogger on board and talk them into allowing you to pay a fee to post. . . . your 5- 8 yearly posts are the highlights of my decade
I just don't have the green. If I had, I would feel pressure to do something interesting with the account, but I'd probably just end up being a jerk. Maybe it's for the best.
Notes from the real world -
You should have done the "Real Estate Auction" Arrange a few 'friends in disguise' to bid against each other before you told everyone to force the price up to something eye catching, $6,000 say (with the understanding they wouldn't have to buy it.) Then announce it as a hot thing. If you catch a bidder you don't know leave them holding the bid. Even if you don't the associated press coverage would have been invaluable. The truth is a cool gimmick though.
feels like i'm doing something illegal by reading these comments. going to take a shower and sing 'afternoon delight' now.
tao i've been reading your blog since the fall of 2006 and i own most of your books and i think shook your hand one time.
being a little familiar with you i wanted to say keep your myspace. don't give it up. put funny pictures as prfile pic.
maybe sell your facebook or paypal accounts, that would seem more authentic.
neway pce out
i feel you, man. think i might still want to 'be you' but i'm not sure. don't really know what it'd be like to be 'asian-american.'
I don't like Myspace. It's too annoying. I could send you money for a painting of squid and hamsters though. I really like your drawings. I would buy them on tee shirts as well.
reading Bed again, bro.
was thinking 'wish tao could just think for me sometimes' coming out of the subway.
it'd be relaxing if i could just walk around and hear what you thought about what i was doing.
Bed is still sweet. sweet literary career.
Pirooz is right. Think of how webcomics make their money. a little from advertising but mostly from t-shirts based on something in the comic. seems like a good way to make steady cash flow without having a real job.
tao lin merchandising empire, make it happen.
I think you are deeply depressed and would like to help you. The cost is $50 per session. Will offer by phone.
sounds vulnerable .
maybe it's just the 'economy'
mix "it" up.
I know your problem.
It's a myspace account.
i am a fan that is not a poor high-school drop out, just a poor college student that doesn't have a job that pays money anymore (i still work there). i think i might have to eat my cat to stay alive
thomas, thank you for contemplating that
chris, yes
kerri, interesting
roo, hi
gingatao, 'damn,' seems like i should have done that, not sure if i have enough friends to do that
colin, paypal, interesting
david, interesting
pirooz, if you paypal me an amount of money i will draw or paint you something
miles, sweet
exadore, hm
the writer's spark, hm

missbehave's blog
I'm considering it. But, if I do 'win' the auction, then I will likely ebay it, then buy it under a fake name, then keep that up forever.
nathan, i recommend you win and then ebay it using techniques described by gingatao
You should have timed it to coincide with the release of 'Shoplifting from American Apparel,' generating some sort of cross-promotion.
But if interest is low it's probably a good indication of how little people care about myspace now.
I'm still watching the auction to make a decision.
