i like adbusters
you're welcome 'rollerskatejams'
you probably have a good sense from doing readings what are 'crowd-pleasers' and what are not. 'crowd-pleasers' usually include comedy.
i read your piece in 'this recording' and now i know why you haven't been including amy hempel.
i never took lish's class but he published me 3 times without editing (out of the distant slush-pile) and when we spoke on the phone a few times i felt like he loved literature and i think being an egomaniac doesn't totally preclude that but maybe it sort of hurts the 'cause.'
(j. robison on way as of yesterday.)
i think where ann beattie went wrong was when she agreed to show all her stories to william shawn editor of the new yorker first and so wrote to please him which was like trying to please someone's prim grandma in a way.
i met her once and i don't think she liked me. i don't blame her though
do you know about frederick barthelme's 1st novel 'war and war'? it's very very different from what he did after

good post.
good job.
all hail tao
you should do the muxtape. i've thought about doing things like that but just never did it. i think it's a good idea.
i kind of want to start something similar to rabbit light movies http://www.rabbitlightmovies.com/
for people to record videos of readings. i think it could make people more excited about online literature to hear voices and see faces.
thanks for the book ignacio
i 'heard' that frederick barthelme's first two books are very postmodern and have pictures in them or something, then he had an epiphany while eating chicken out of a bucket or something and decided that was what he wanted to write about, that is what i read somewhere
i looked in 'distortions' and most of the stories i like most from there were published in the new yorker
i think ann beattie probably just changed over time, people change or something, for example i won't write a lot more poems like those in 'you are a little bit happier than i am' partly because i already did or something
i am going to do the muxtape daniel
good job maya
they are in the financial district also now
oh yes, this should happen, there should be a literary muxtape equivalent, i began thinking similiar things at the same time i think,
daniel yes you should do that, it could be like rabbit light movies but without language poems
omg i love muxtape, muxtape is like, my thing.
