let's only publish our books from now on without our names and titles only blank white covers with 'novel' or 'poetry' written on it. we can give them to a fucked cart vendor to sell in nyc.
What have you been reading lately?
i'm reading richard yates 'young hearts crying'
after i read this and the other half of 'cold springs harbor' i will be the only person who exists who has read all of richard yates
what are you reading?
is yates translated to belgium?
Yates isn't translated to Dutch, so no one reads him here. The only exception is Eleven Kinds of Loneliness, but only recently. This is based on me never having met a fellow Belgian who read something by Yates.
I've just finished Revolutionary Road (The Easter Parade and his biography prior to that), and now I'm reading Lorrie Moore's Birds in America, and Alan Moore's Lost Girls, which is awesome.
did you like yates?
did you read alan moore because you saw his name alphabetically next to lorrie moore?
1. I bought all his books after reading The Easter Parade, but it wasn't until after the biography I became fascinated with him. He redefined tragedy for me.
2. Yes. Alan Moore's book has more naked women, though.
that is a beautiful debate
